This website was deployed using a wide range of cloud technologies including S3, CloudFront, DynamoDB and more.

The visitor counter you see above was implemented via a 'serverless stack' of DynamoDB, AWS Lambda, and an API Gateway.

The purpose of this project was to test and improve my proficiency with various AWS services - as well as traditional front-end tools like HTML/CSS/SASS/Javascript.

I also established front and back-end CI/CD via GitHub Actions and AWS CodePipeline to instantly commit improvements to the live site.

AWS 'Serverless' Website Project:

- Personal website deployed using S3, CloudFront, DynamoDB, Lambda and other cloud tools (https://gmendes.com).
- Created a responsive front-end using JavaScript/HTML/CSS/SCSS.
- Served static site files in S3 bucket through CloudFront, with cache invalidation.
- Set up DNS records/certificates using Cloudflare and AWS certificate manager.
- Developed a custom 'visitor counter' through a serverless stack of DynamoDB => AWS Lambda function written in Python => API endpoint via the AWS gateway.
- Implemented CORS management to allow for API calls directly from the website.
- Established CI/CD through GitHub Actions and AWS CodePipeline.

University Project - Machine Learning:

- Created and augmented a custom image classification dataset using aerial drone photos provided by a local survey company.
- Used transfer learning to retrain publicly available neural network models to recognise damage to anti-flood infrastructure in the countryside.
- Designed, programmed, and deployed an app for integration with the final models using Android Studio (Kotlin).
